August 5 is First Wednesday in Pleasanton. The Pleasanton Downtown Association will be featuring the Dog Days Of Summer and this by far will be my favorite theme! Last year I was laying in the street on my belly, shooting dogs in the parade as they walked past me. This year, my booth will be in its usual spot, in between Murphy’s Paw and Tri-Valley Animal Emergency Care. Karma actually vistied TVAEC this week with a situation that woke me up at 4 am. Maybe not a true emergency, but when you have a dog that has “issues” (it was like she was partying in Mexico and drank the water if you catch my drift) I considered it an emergency.

In addition to my usual display of prints, canvases and other artwork I will be setting up my back drop and photographing dogs that evening. Stop by my booth and for a nominal fee you can purchase a portrait of your pet which I will take then and there. Your print will be available to you the following week. This is a $50 value. Here are some examples of what we can capture with your lovely pooch if you stop by. Think of the money you are saving–no session fee, a low cost print–this is a Pam Biasotti exclusive offer. Also, if you stop by to have your pet’s portrait taken you will be entitled to $50 off a future session fee booking.

I recently returned from a quick trip to my old hometown, St. Louis. I took my teenager along with me to see where I grew up and experience the difference between the Midwest versus the West. We managed to catch the Cardinals beat the Dodgers, took in the St. Louis Zoo and made it to the top of the Gateway Arch. I had a lot of great memories come back to me that weekend. I also was able to hang out with two colleagues who are fantastic St.Louis and Chicago photographers. Lauri Baker was doing a family session for Marianne Drenthe and I was just kind of along for the ride. I took the goofy shots because that’s just what I do.

When I actually tried to be serious I occasionally would get this from Mare’s little sweetie Lauren.

Maddie was a little bit harder to capture. Still digging and playing with photos of her. You know what they say, photographer’s children are always the hardest to photograph. Lauri was so hospitable. Thank you for all your generosity and for spending time with us. And to the Drenthe family–you were all a joy to hang out with as well!

Sure doesn’t feel like springtime judging by the sky this morning but I am looking forward to all the blooms and colors that are happening at the moment. With all the rain we have had recently, the hills are still green. Soon enough the rolling hills around here will be back to their old familiar brown, but for now it’s lovely to look at and enjoy.

Don’t forget tomorrow! I am going to be photographing your pets at Murphy’s Paw in downtown Pleasanton. I think the slots have all been filled, but sometimes we creatively sneak in a few extra pets that show up, so don’t be afraid to come down and ask Melanie if it can happen. The theme is springtime.

Karma is doing well. She sleeps through the night (ha ha I sound like a parent) and is figuring out the housebreaking routine. We are crate training her and I have to advocate how awesome and responsible crate training a puppy is. I am looking forward to the time when she has all her necessary shots and we can venture out into the world and explore. Right now Karma is already enrolled in puppy class. She slept through most of the class, but we practice what we learn daily. My only complaint is that I fear that she prefers my husband to me when making a choice of who she wants to follow and where she wants to hang out. It’s humorous and makes me green with envy at the same time. I know she loves me but she loves him more! Oh heck, it’s only been 10 days but I think she has her alpha picked out all ready.

I hope to see you tomorrow!
