Happy Birthday to my beloved girl Karma!-Dog photographer

She’s one today!  I have a complete post over at my You Had Me At Woof Photography® Photo Blog. She’s a tough subject but I love her all the same.  We are now doing agility, obedience and rally–she’s a little working dog machine.

One would never know by this image that she was an agile, dutiful, obedient girl.  But hey, it’s her birthday.  Cut her some slack.

What’s Going On? Upcoming event presented by Pyrenees Pets Danville and Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF)

First things first.  Happy half birthday to Ms. Karma.  She’s six months old today and posed briefly for this photograph before attempting to knock the hat off her head and try eating it.  I am digging the orange on her–compliments her reddish golden coat so well.

Next, feel free to check out my Woof Blog regarding a published article in Citydogmagazine which featured some of my photos on an article written about Peace Corp Pups by Heather Bloch.  I love Citydogmagazine–you should subscribe to it!

There is an event coming up Saturday July 18 which is presented by Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) and Pyrenees Pets.  It’s the 4th annual Summer Doggie Benefit, 11am to 4 pm at Pyrenees Pets in the Blackhawk Safeway plaza, 3440 Camino Tassajara, Danville.  You can find out more information by calling 925-648-7387.  Proceeds will go to ARF.  I have been asked to participate and I am donating a complimentary pet session with an 11×14 print to the silent auction.  I also will be in a booth, photographing pets.  Your $10 donation will get you a 5×7 print.  When you are at the event, go to Pyrenees Pets, make the required donation, and they will provide you with a ticket to come to my booth and have your pet’s photograph taken.  Photographs will be on a first come, first served basis.

Well, it’s time to hit the hay.  Karma starts a brand new advanced obedience class and new rally class tomorrow and we have to be up early!  That girl is in for a rude awakening! TWO CLASSES in a row.  She’s gonna be pooped!

Springtime! San Francisco Bay Area Photography by Pam Biasotti

Sure doesn’t feel like springtime judging by the sky this morning but I am looking forward to all the blooms and colors that are happening at the moment.  With all the rain we have had recently, the hills are still green.  Soon enough the rolling hills around here will be back to their old familiar brown, but for now it’s lovely to look at and enjoy.

Don’t forget tomorrow!  I am going to be photographing your pets at Murphy’s Paw in downtown Pleasanton.  I think the slots have all been filled, but sometimes we creatively sneak in a few extra pets that show up, so don’t be afraid to come down and ask Melanie if it can happen.  The theme is springtime.

Karma is doing well. She sleeps through the night (ha ha I sound like a parent) and is figuring out the housebreaking routine.  We are crate training her and I have to advocate how awesome and responsible crate training a puppy is.  I am looking forward to the time when she has all her necessary shots and we can venture out into the world and explore.  Right now Karma is already enrolled in puppy class.  She slept through most of the class, but we practice what we learn daily.  My only complaint is that I fear that she prefers my husband to me when making a choice of who she wants to follow and where she wants to hang out.  It’s humorous and makes me green with envy at the same time.  I know she loves me but she loves him more!  Oh heck, it’s only been 10 days but I think she has her alpha picked out all ready.

I hope to see you tomorrow!

Good Karma

My son Kyle turned 14 the other day.  Forgot to mention he’s an ever changing person–taller than me and a bigger smart-#$%$% than me.  But he’s maturing beautifully and at times I feel the urge to want to grab a box of hair color to hide the gray he gives me.  It’s all good.  I finally gave in and succumbed to the pleas for a cell phone.  Texting is his new hobby.  When he isn’t found playing his guitar in lieu of homework you can find him straining his thumbs and wrists.  Apparently the unlimited texting feature I paid so handsomely for has paid for itself twenty-fold.    So, yes, happy belated birthday my 10 pound 5.5 ounce bundle of joy.  Here’s to another 14 years.  :)

I write this post with a raging headache and level of fatigue that plagues any new parent.  Yes.  I am a new parent.  I finally have the daughter I have always longed for.  Little Ms. Karma Biasotti has joined the household at 9 weeks of age and is resting comfortably on Riley’s old pillow next to my feet in my office.  She came home last night.  It’s been almost 10 years since I raised a puppy so it feels like I am rusty in some of the routine.  Like any other mom I worry about her getting enough food, her poops and sleep schedule.

Karma has a sprinkle of Riley in her–her great great grandfather was Riley’s grandfather, Dakotah.  Karma was conceived right around the time Riley became ill and passed away so abruptly.  She comes from a surprise litter.  Her breeder wasn’t planning on breeding her little agility star mama Sunshine but nature had a different plan and the little dynamo gave birth to 9 healthy puppies.  Red collar girl came home with me.  She’s smart.  Very smart.  We have an obedience and possibly agility path to follow ahead of us.  Here’s a photo I casually snapped of my new princess today.  Girl Power.  Finally, I am not the only bitch in the house.
