First off, we have Maybelle.  She’s one of the cutest Pugs I have photographed and graced Diablo Magazine last year in their pet issue.  Looks like she has been eating some bon bons since I last saw her.  You and me both, sista.  We need to high tail it to the gym.  I don’t think she won the costume contest.  The skinny girls always beat out us curvy girls.

Then of course, there was the Aussie,  Ginger.  Apparently her owner claims she knows my name.  When she says  “Pam Biasotti” Ginger does this thing with her head and curls her lip like Elvis.  Then she smiles and says “hi”.  I have heard this on the phone, it’s true.  It’s a breathy “hi.”  She can also say “I love you”.  Why they haven’t gone to David Letterman for stupid pet tricks is a mystery to me.

Zoe.  A yellow Labrador.  We managed to get many smiles, many looks.

This one is just like the portraits you see college seniors pose for in the late 70′s, early 80′s.    There are probably chain studios that still offer this kind of pose for women.  Won’t name any names but their initials start with O and end with M.  Just sayin’.

Which brings me to these two.  I told them my Bulldog Shih Tzu joke which cracked up some Pugs and some Boxers in the past, but these two German Shepherds didn’t GET IT.  Maybe it’s a language thing.  Look at their reaction to the joke

So, I started talking about Hogan’s Heroes and they relaxed right up.  Total icebreaker.

Finally, going to show you a lovely Pit mix who had a marvelous time with me.  Don’t judge a Pit by it’s cover.   They can be delightful dogs.

Next First Wednesday is Wednesday, September 1.  I will see you there.  I won’t have my camera with me, but I will still make your dog glad she came by to see me.

Four generations of family.  How wonderful it must feel to be a great-grandparent and see your grandchild having children!

Of course it wouldn’t be a blog post without adding sweet Ellie the Dalmatian into the spotlight!  Thanks O Family, as always I loved photographing you all.

Karma has half-siblings.  Karma has cousins.  Let’s call them Sousins.  Jester is her daddy and Spice is her aunt–you do the logic.  Right now they are 6 weeks old and full of energy.  Most images here show them after an exhausting playdate with my youngest son and me.  DISCLAIMER:  do not look at these unless you want to smile for the rest of the day and sigh happily.

There are 2 girls and 5 boys from this litter.  I wanted to sneak a few of them into my purse before I left.

It’s tempting, because  I would love another Golden.  Karma would probably love a playmate.  My plate is too full right now.  2 dogs are a lot of hard work, especially since training them is a high priority.

One would never know by this image that she was an agile, dutiful, obedient girl.  But hey, it’s her birthday.  Cut her some slack.

At 5:04 today I was finishing a tween and teen’s session with their Labrodoodle, Rusty.  I didn’t even realize it was 5:04 today when others all around the Bay Area were probably observing their moment of silence.

Rusty, you lighten my reflective mood.  October 17, 1989 was a day we will never forget in the Bay Area.

Today I am saluting Claire the Brittany.  Isn’t she adorable?

I almost didn’t remember it.  Probably it’s a good thing since I have been caught up with school starting, sports, dog training with Karma and a failed NIC on my PC which has caused my wireless network to cease working.  Thank goodness for Peets Coffee and free wifi.  Dante looked up at me last night and said, “Mom, isn’t tomorrow the 31st?  Isn’t it Riley’s birthday?”  Yes.  Yes it is.  That kid has a memory like an elephant.  Details.  He’s a statistician.  Ask him the box scores from last night’s A’s game and he will not only tell you what all the plays were in the inning,  but he will tell you the number order of how the out was made.   I have no idea what the numbers are for each spot but he sure does.

So, that’s a good thing that I didn’t get weepy and depressed this week thinking about Riley’s birthday, right?  I can write about him now without mascara running down my face each time his name comes up.  Don’t get me wrong–there’s tears in my eyes still–they just haven’t spilled all over my laptop.  I guess that’s called healing.
