The awkward stage has set in on Karma’s body. She looks like a miniature dog with extra long legs and isn’t really looking like a teddy bear Golden. Training is coming along steadily but these past few weeks she has decided to run in the opposite direction when we work together. Stubborn little thing. One of my trainers told me to have more fun with her, she’s just a puppy.

Housebreaking a female puppy just seems to be more timely than housebreaking a male puppy from what I can remember. We are doing our crate training and things are moving along. Yesterday I was making lunch for D and Karma decided it would be cool to use the dining room carpet to relieve herself. I caught her in the act and scooted her outside as fast as I could but she still left me a puddle to clean up. So, my advice to all you puppy owners–just because you think they are fully housebroken, don’t believe it. You have to watch them carefully for many months. Praise them for the positive things they do.

The best thing about having a new puppy is how excited D is to play with her and watch her grow. He’s a dog lover for sure.

Karma is as tall as D. What happened to the pup I held in the palm of my hand?

Karma’s head isn’t the usual boxy head you find on many Goldens. Riley had a rounder head. Karma has a longer snout. Amazingly her nose is still black. She hasn’t had opportunity to dig with it yet.
So, at 5 months of age I have a miniature dog here. Spoiled more than any other puppy I have had so far. Has permission to sit on the couch and hang out with me on my bed while I type on the laptop.

I don’t think I will ever tire of photographing these two together.

So cute Pam. I love the image just before the last one. Those are great. My puppy went from 30lbs to 80lbs in about 2 months. Now I feel like I didn’t take enough little puppy pictures of him.
