Last night I received the email from Bailey’s owners that his time had come. Bailey was only 7 years old and suffered a battle with brain cancer. The most amazing thing about this beautiful boy was that he managed to stay around over 2 years after being diagnosed. Somewhat of a miracle. You would have never known he was suffering from cancer all this time. When he was diagnosed we took these photos and somehow in my own selfish way didn’t finish editing all of them as I feared it would mean the end of Bailey. Ironically they are pregnant again and this time Bailey won’t be there for the birth of their second baby which is due in June. So, J and B I am so sorry for your loss of your first love–a Labrador named Bailey who brought you joy and happiness. My sincerest condolences to you. He is at Rainbow Bridge now, running with Riley and other wonderful dogs.

Jill – I am sooo sorry to hear that you lost Bailey. You, Brian and Jake, gave him the most wonderful life any dog could have hoped for…. and he of course returned the favor by being the best dog ever…

It’s rather ironic that I didn’t see this section of your blog until today (the same day that I heard that Mia was born). At the time that Bailey died, my dad had just had a stroke and I didn’t fully process what had happened. When we visited you last weekend, we remembered that Bailey would not be there and felt sad, but then we saw you, Jill, with your bulging belly, and forgot our sadness. I can’t imagine how hard it was for the two of you to put Bailey to sleep, and am so sorry for the loss of your precious dog.
