Shhhhhhhhhhhhh. This is going to be a surprise for these two Labradors’ mistress. Her birthday is coming up and their master wants to surprise her with some portraits of their sweet darlings. The dogs are in the teenager stage right now–lots of energy and fun. It’s been raining all week in the Bay Area but on Saturday the rain gods were kind enough to stop for a bit. As I was crossing the San Mateo bridge I must have hit the most horrendous rainstorm in a long time. Strangely enough the skies parted as I made it to San Carlos. It was worth getting soaked to the bone to capture this lovely boy and girl. They played hard. All I can say is this is going to be one special birthday present. Big points are going to be scored for this thoughtful gift! If you recognize these canines don’t tell their mom! Keep it on the “downlo”.
This reminds me of an American Gothic–give them a pitchfork, overalls and an apron and you be the judge.

I am loving me some texture lately.

Finally, one of my favorites. This gives new meaning to the word water dog. With those ears perked up I would almost say they don’t look like Labrador Retrievers!
