This session was done in my clients’ home in Noe Valley in San Francisco. The most delicious natural light graced the living room and dining room. I was very happy to leave my studio lighting and lightstands in the trunk of my car and just enjoy capturing this new little boy with all the available light I had. I think I love newborn sessions almost more than anything. They take quite a while to complete. There are lots and lots of breaks for mom and baby and while mom is nursing or catching herself a snack I have the opportunity to learn about my clients and who they are. There was some wonderful conversation–such hospitality–and what great sports they were while Junior peed on Mom and pooped on Dad. That comes with the territory of shooting a newborn session. Just means that he’s being well nourished and thriving.

It was very important we captured Junior with the cricket ball. We tried many variations. Here is one of them.
