Adorable 9 year old Shawn. Shawn was born with a rare and complicated heart defect - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He has survived many, many surgeries, unbelievable complications, and yet he has an iron will and a determination like no other. Shawn is now at a point that his heart is failing and needs a new heart. He currently lives at the Ronald McDonald House near the Stanford Medical Center with his mom, Trista, sisters Amanda and Haley. His father, George lives and works in Alaska (where they are from) and was able to make it down here for the holidays to spend some quality family time. I really enjoyed spending a little time with them today.

Your pictures of the stockwell family are beautiful. I met shawn while my son (with the same basic diagnosis) was recieving treatment at LCPH. It is always good to hear that he is still hanging in there despite all of the obstacles he has faced. That boy is an inspriation to all parents with HLHS kids!
